One highlight of Wolves current season has been the return to sparkling form of Matt Murray.

Widely believed to be a major factor in the teams success thus far, the divisions number one ranked ‘keeper has been imperious for a vast majority of the season.

And despite last weekends lapse which saw him beaten six times, he still feels that Wolves are masters of their own destiny as the season enters its end game.

‘It’s still in our own hands, although we need a few wins to cement a place in the play-offs at least.’ He said. ‘Anyone can beat anyone in this division and I think the battles at both ends of the table will go right to the wire.’

The only true positive to come out of the Hampshire hammering was the way the hom,e fans stuck by Mick McCarthy’s men. Not always the case under previous managers. The former under 21 England ‘keeper added his voice to the many who have spoken in gratitude for the paying publics support all through the game.

‘They were unbelievable against Southampton. They recognised there was no lack of effort by us and that it was just one of those days when everything hit towards our goal went in. It was a surreal game that I hope will never be repeated.’

As do we Matt, as do we.
