With a largely pointless October international break getting in the way of real football, it’s been a quiet couple of days in the world of Wolverhampton Wanderers and although I pay little to no attention to international games, Wolves fans do at least have reason to do so given the squad we now boast at the Molineux.
With a Portuguese influx owing to our ties with ‘super agent’ Jorge Mendes in recent years, one of our better captures has certainly been midfielder Ruben Neves and I don’t need to wax lyrical about his skills on the pitch as simply put, everyone across football has now seen what the 21-year-old talent can do.
For anyone across football who hadn’t, Neves gave a great account of himself last week whilst on international duty for Portugal and he played a key role in their 3-2 victory over Poland in their Nations League tie and one moment, in particular, stood out.
How's your touch, Rafa? 💥
He gets on the end of Ruben Neves' pinpoint pass to round the 'keeper, only for Glik to knock it into his own net! âš½

Neves was robbed of the assist for his efforts with the defender knocking the ball into his own net ultimately but that certainly didn’t bother fans who reacted to his pinpoint pass.
Remember last season when Villa fans were saying that Grealish is better than Neves ???? @Wolves @MikeyBurrows @tim_spiers_Star

A reminder tonight, if ever we needed one, of the genius that is Ruben Neves. Europe’s elite will be all over him in the summer. But if we are to take Fosun’s ambitions seriously, we have no choice but to keep him. Sell him, and we lose credibility. #WWFC
