“A Warning To Us” – Nuno Expects Wolves To Take The Lessons Despite Victory

|

With proper football returning this weekend after the November lull in fixtures, Wolverhampton Wanderers faced a trip to Dean Court for our tie with Bournemouth earlier today.

Wolves were looking to make it back to back victories again after our run of draws, but Eddie Howe’s side are in good form themselves.

Although we clearly edged the game and chances, a very bright start to the match saw us two goals up as Joao Moutinho and Raul Jimenez found the back of the net inside of the opening 32 minutes. With Bournemouth being reduced to ten men in the 37th minute, we will have been disappointed to concede just ahead of the hour mark, but otherwise we weren’t really in any danger.

Speaking to the BBC following the full time whistle, head coach Nuno Espirito Santo said of the game.

“The first half was really good. It was a reference for us. We’ve played a lot of games already and this was a dangerous one. What happened in the second half must serve as a warning to us. It was very difficult. Bournemouth showed a lot of character, with a lot of set-pieces and long balls. Eddie and his players are amazing. They’ve done a brilliant job.”
