A Familiar Name Is Back On The Rumour Mill At Wolverhampton Wanderers

I vaguely remember some speculation from previous transfer windows that suggested Wolverhampton Wanderers may have had an interest in young midfielder Amadou Diawara, and speculation resurfaced this week as we look to strengthen head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s first team squad for the coming 2019/20 campaign.

Nuno and Jeff Sri have already spoken about keeping a more tight knit group, despite us now facing more games as we enter the Europa League competition next term, but 21-year-old Diawara is now reportedly out of favour at Napoli and they are looking to move him on as he hasn’t impressed former Chelsea gaffer Carlo Ancelotti.

With reports originally claiming we’d need to spend in excess of 40million Euros to gain his signature as it was believed they turned down offers in that vicinity last year, the expectation is that kind of figure would get a deal done now.

I’m not so sure myself as despite the Ancelotti claims, it appears he was injured at the end of the year and he was being used pretty regularly as both a starter and a substitute, so he was in his plans.
