On Wednesday Wolverhampton Wanderers treated fans to another signing, but it was again one for the future as we brought in 20-year-old Azerbaijan full international Renat Dadashov from Portuguese Liga Pro side Estoril.

The youngster is highly rated for the future and already has three full caps to his name for his country, but given his age he obviously has plenty of development left to do. In the 2018/19 campaign for Estoril, he scored four times in 22 appearances and he’s now signed a four year deal at the Molineux.

He has immediately been loaned back out to newly promoted Primeira Liga side Pacos de Ferreira, and he’ll continue his development with them for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.

Speaking to the Official Website as he went through our revolving door, he was certainly saying the right things about our interest in him.

“I’m very happy and I’m very excited. This club is a beautiful club and to be a wolf is unbelievable, so I’m very happy to be here now. I got a call from my agent saying Wolves wanted to sign me, and I was like ‘really? Is that true? You’re not kidding me?’ He said ‘yes, it’s true’, so it was an easy decision to make. But now, I will go out on loan where everything will be fine, and I can come back a stronger player next season.”

Amongst the good luck messages on social media, plenty of fans were hopeful we’d be signing a few people for the now ahead of deadline day closing.
