A short time ago this afternoon, Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed that defender Ryan Bennett had now penned a new deal at the Molineux, keeping him with us until the summer of 2021.

The 28-year-old former England Under 21 international made 33 appearances last season as we booked our place back in the Premier League as Championship title winners, and he’s a key man for head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and boasts 17 appearances to his name so far this year.

In fact, he’s only missed one top-flight game so far.

Signing a new two and a half year deal, he’s clearly impressed following his arrival from Norwich City in the summer of 2017 and having arrived as a freebie, it was a very astute piece of business from our point of view.

Given his efforts in our shirt since he arrived at the club, the news brightened up a Monday for these fans who took the time to respond on social media.
