With Wolverhampton Wanderers fans being less than impressed last month when speculation surfaced of a departure for Ivan Cavaleiro and the suggested destination being Huddersfield Town, I doubt this one will go over much better.
Teamtalk have carried a rather strange ‘exclusive’ this week – they seem to be running a few of them – and they say that they understand Fulham have moved into pole position to land the Portuguese international.
Again the suggestion is we are looking to offload him and make a quick profit on the sum paid to Monaco when he arrived back in 2016 for a club-record £7million.
They say newly-promoted Fulham are willing to pay £16million for him and that would obviously represent a decent uplift for his short stay at the Molineux so far.
I know the club are aiming higher this season than simply consolidation in the top-flight but would we really sell to a fellow newly promoted side?
Huddersfield do feature in the report though as it’s stated we have turned down £12million offers from both previously.
I’m not buying it – especially not at that fee.
Looking forward to start the season with my club ????????#wolvesaywe @WolvesPRT pic.twitter.com/8iaRgUTXtY
