Wolverhampton Wanderers fans might have been hoping for a bit of a busier deadline day today, but with head coach Nuno Espirito Santo abroad for our Pyunik Europa League clash, it was always doubtful – we have seen another departure this afternoon though and Academy graduate Bright Enobakhare has another chance to impress out on loan.

Having had an impressive spell out on loan at Coventry City last season, the 21-year-old was highly tipped to return to Coventry given the words coming from their manager, but earlier today he signed a new 12 month extension with us, and quickly made the switch out to Wigan Athletic where he’ll team up with former Wolves midfielder Paul Cook.

Another Championship experience for him should do his development the world of good and Sporting Director Kevin Thelwell told the Official Website of the deal.

“We’re really pleased to tie Bright down to an extended deal and also pleased to give him the opportunity to go and play in the Championship. We’re hoping he’ll be able to build on the great work that he did at Coventry last year. We all recognise that he’s a player that’s got great potential and hopefully this gives him a platform to prove that he’s capable of making the next step into the Premier League, by doing well for Wigan.”

With some expecting him to play a bigger part in pre-season until visa issues got in the way, plenty of fans are on board with him stepping up again with another loan spell as it should only bring him on.
