1 Shot, 1 Key Pass & 20 y/o Wolves Starlet Makes His Mark In The EFL Cup To Lift MotM

|

The EFL Cup third round clash for Wolverhampton Wanderers pitted us against Championship side Reading on Wednesday evening and despite a poor week for the club, with us yet to truly get ourselves going in the Premier League this year, this clash was a nice distraction.

20-year-old youngster, and summer signing, Bruno Jordao got us off the mark in the game and despite going down to ten men as Meritan Shabani left the pitch with injury late on, we almost held out for the 1-0 win but the visitors equalised to take the game to penalties.

We took a 4-2 victory from 12 yards to send us through to the next round of the competition and we now know we travel to locals Aston Villa for the next tie.

Statistics website Whoscored obviously edged the game our way, despite the late leveller, when it came to the player ratings but goalscorer Jordao took their star man award with a score of 7.51 – despite only being on the pitch for 41 minutes.

Completing the top five in their system of ratings were Ryan Bennett (7.45), Ruben Neves (7.22), goalkeeper John Ruddy (7.17) and Jesus Vallejo (7.09).

Now for a league win…
